The Return of The Successful Failure

Wow guys, I'm so thrilled to be back with the Successful Failure podcast. For the return of the show I'm doing something different: I'm doing an entire episode without a guest, and getting super personal.

Tune in as I discuss mental health, depression, and the importance of online or hashtag families - #families - to my mental health, and ultimately my return to podcasting.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who's continued to subscribe, listen, and contact me about the show.

Episode 6 with guest Breifne Earley

Breifne Earley.jpg

Can you imagine spending 16.5 months on a bicycle, pedaling 18,000 miles through 27 countries? Our latest guest cannot only imagine it, he's done it.

In October 2010 Breifne Earley had reached the depths of failure, and decided to take his own life. Through a series of serendipitous events Breifne not only decided not to go through with suicide, he set a series of 10 life-altering challenges for himself to complete over the next 13 months.

The success of completing these challenges spurred him to do something more, something bigger - he entered the World Cycle Race to spread the message "It's O.K. not to feel O.K." Join us to hear Breifne's story in his own words.

BONUS: for the FIRST TIME EVER we live stream part of the podcast, taking questions from participants on Periscope and Meerkat.

TED Talks to Keep You Motivated

Hi everyone!

We're officially in full summer swing - HAPPY JULY - and will continue to publish bi-weekly episodes of The Successful Failure Podcast. The honest truth (is there such thing as a dishonest truth? hmmmm) is that our guests have chaotic schedules over the summer and so do our post-production volunteers. Sure, we could be less particular about the guests we feature and deliver audio that's not quite up to snuff (this is a learning curve folks, and I hope it's getting better), but that's NOT what we want this podcast to be about. So, we're spreading out the time between episodes to give you, our AWESOME audience the best we can deliver. We'll be back to a weekly schedule after US Labor Day in early September.

That doesn't mean we don't have anything for you on our off weeks - not by a long shot. Two weeks ago we shared our FREE Thank You eBook to help motivate you through your failures to the successes waiting at the other side. This week we're sharing more tasty treats to keep the hearth-fires of motivation burning. Our featured content today comes courtesy of a FABULOUS piece in written by Kim Lachance Shandrow. You can read the full article, which is wonderful and totally worth the read, 4 Motivating TED Talks to Help You Bounce Back from Failure here.

In the meantime, we've culled the TED Talks Ms. Shandrow highlights and embedded them here for your viewing pleasure. Featuring raw, motivational, and relatable stories from Kathryn Schulz, Larry SmithSarah Lewis, and Elizabeth Gilbert these clips remind us that failure is not only an option, it's an inevitable...but it's not the end, unless we decide to let it be.
